Welcome to Modern Reform Pilates

Hi, we're Sam and Addie — co-founders of Modern Reform Pilates.

We'd always talked about building something together, and it started in the most unexpected way: Sam was in the city training to be certified in a reformer method built on strength and endurance, and Addie became her very first practice partner — squeezing in sessions while finding herself again, mentally and physically, after having her second baby. What we both noticed, session after session, went far beyond getting stronger. Our breath got steadier, our focus sharpened, our control over our own bodies came back sharper than either of us expected — and our relationship with fitness changed for good. That's when it hit us: why wasn't there a studio like this anywhere in the northern suburbs?

So we built one. Modern Reform Pilates came from two friends who believed in this method, believed in each other, and wanted to bring a real strength workout to our own community — the kind of studio where you're not just a name on a class list.

We can't wait to have you in the studio.

We believe strength is more than physical — it's steadiness, focus, and the confidence that carries you off the reformer and into the rest of your life.

That belief is baked into every class we teach, and it's why we built the Modern Reform Method around three steps instead of just handing you a hard workout and calling it a day.

Stabilize is about grounding — giving you a space to actually focus on your body and your mindset before you move a muscle. Activate is where strength shows up, and not just in your muscles: it's the resilience to stay present and push through. Intensify is where it becomes yours — you decide how far to take it, because we believe fitness should meet you as you are, not the other way around.

We built this to be more than a workout — it's a community. The people next to you are working just as hard, cheering just as loud, and showing up for the same reasons you are. That's what makes it stick.

This isn't just a workout. It's a lifestyle we're building together — one class, one rep, one small win at a time.

Modern Reform Pilates works for anyone who wants to get stronger — however that shows up for you.

Never touched a reformer before? You'll be walked through everything, starting day one. Working around an injury or pregnancy? We'll modify right alongside you. Already a regular, plays sports or training for a race? The intensity scales with you, so there's always another level to reach for. And yes — plenty of our strongest clients are men.

However you got here, you'll walk out stronger than you walked in.

We built Modern Reform Pilates to feel like a real community — small classes, instructors who know your name, a workout that actually works. Opening a second location in Libertyville means bringing that same experience to a whole new community of people.

Small classes, real instructors, the same method that meets you where you are — that stays true no matter which studio you walk into.
